Entangled Oceans started out as a handle for my overall creative practices and artist name, but the value of it is so much more. The intersectionality of our waters and cultures in conjunction to the teachings of community principalities and love as a framework for modern design practices.
Starting in 2021, we created murals within the public arts sector of Western Washington, natural-dyed textiles, and Industrial Design consulting. In addition, this aligned with our involvement in the Seattle music and storytelling scene.
The goal and intention of Entangled Oceans is to focus on visual storytelling and immersive experiences based within Afro-Presentism//futurism, Indigenous Research Methodologies, and Environmental Considerations and Sustainability: our overall relationships to the land. By being contemplative and slowing down, we are able to ask ourselves how our impacts will affect our future generations in the long run.
